Direct Marketing Officer

WR Fundraising Recruitment is proud to be working with a high profile, health charity and recruiting for a Direct Marketing Officer to work as part of the fundraising and communications team – contributing to the delivery of successful individual giving / fundraising campaigns / communications with supporters, including postal appeals, newsletters, e-news and mobile communications – focusing on acquisition.


This is a terrific role, working collaboratively within a friendly fundraising and communications team in a position that will allow you to develop your communication skills while having valuable input into the individual giving / fundraising communications campaigns.


Duties will include:

  • Assist in the production of direct marketing fundraising campaigns to new/potential regular individual donors and supporters

  • Planning, developing & managing a programme of direct marketing communications to new & existing individual supporters

  • Oversee the day to day running of direct marketing campaigns, producing and monitoring schedules, briefing fundraising partners and sourcing content

  • Project managing the development and implementation of donor engagement programmes to increase income from individual supporters including in-memoriam, legacy activities and payroll giving, including project managing donor recruitment and retention.

  • Track and report on the daily, weekly and monthly performance of  direct marketing campaigns

  • Work with external suppliers such as direct marketing agencies, printers and copywriters ensuring projects run according to brief, budget and schedule

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Knowledge of direct marketing / communications approaches and techniques to fundraise from individuals

  • Experience of working on direct marketing campaigns, regular giving donor acquisition, telemarketing or donor retention

  • Experience of project planning and implementing marketing plans.

  • Ability to write clear, persuasive, jargon free, emotive and inspiring copy

  • Experience of monitoring and analysing direct marketing campaigns

  • Experience of working with external suppliers including direct marketing agencies to deliver fundraising objectives
