Head of Fundraising

Are you a talented fundraising manager with experience across several key income streams, such as philanthropy, corporates, and trusts? If so, we have an exciting opportunity for you to take on a new role with an international development charity as their Head of Fundraising. You will be leading on a fundraising and income growth, helping to support a new five-year strategy across the organisation.


You will be leading a small team, developing and delivering a new fundraising plan that will drive income from trusts, grants, corporates, and individuals. With a key focus on the impact of nature and conservation, you will be part of an organisation impacting on communities in the UK and Africa.


You’ll be part of a collaborative and supportive team who work closely together to achieve the charity’s vision. This is an exciting role, with real opportunity for the right person to have a huge impact.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Develop and deliver the fundraising strategy, in line with organisational objectives

  • Secure and develop new sources of unrestricted income

  • Drive forward the development of major donor relationships and corporate partnerships

  • Work collaboratively to identify prospects and convert them into effective partnerships

  • Identify new fundraising opportunities across a range of income streams

  • Create stewardship plans for supporters to drive engagement and collaborate on overall communications strategies, including content creation for on and offline channels

  • Line manage a small team working across trusts, foundations, and CRM management

  • Oversee effective use of the charity CRM ensuring it is kept accurate and relevant

  • Representing the charity to external audiences, engaging with potential and existing supporters, HNWI, and major donors

  • Support the overall evaluation strategy, developing reports on fundraising income and impact

 

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Have demonstrable experience of fundraising and management, with the ability to work across a multi-disciplinary team

  • Have a proven track record in achieving fundraising targets and securing donations from a range of sources, including individuals, corporates, legacies, and trusts

  • Be a strong and versatile communicator, able to engage and inspire a range of audiences

  • Have a collaborative approach, able to line manage a team, and lead by example

  • Be flexible and adaptable, able to support the wider team when needed

  • Be highly organised and able to manage time through effective planning
