Fundraising Manager

WR Fundraising Recruitment are looking for an enthusiastic Fundraising Manager, to work in the heart of one of the capital’s beautiful and unique green spaces. Leading on income generation for a long-established community charity, this role will be building on a successful trusts programme to develop unrestricted funding through new philanthropic initiatives.


Working closely with the CEO as a member of the senior team, we are looking for someone passionate and skilled at stewarding income from trusts, foundations, and statutory sources, as well as the ability to drive forward the development of successful partnerships and major donor relationships, actively seeking out new funding.


This role will be an integral part of driving forward an effective fundraising strategy that will shape the future of the organisation and will be instrumental in developing a new fundraising strategy for 2020 and beyond. As well as appealing to existing fundraising managers, the CEO is keen to hear from anyone with experience at Officer level who is looking to step up into a managerial position.

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Work with the CEO to design and implement a new fundraising strategy in line with business objectives

  • Effective stewardship of existing trusts and foundations, with an emphasis on building long-term relationships

  • Driving forward a new major giving programme, delivering support and demonstrating impact to high-net worth individuals

  • Develop communications channels that will harness the work of the charity effectively

  • Research and create compelling fundraising proposals for a range of funders who align with the charity’s aims

  • Identify potential opportunities through corporate partnerships and individual giving, building relationships and generating unrestricted income

  • Developing supporter communications and marketing initiatives in line with identified priorities within the fundraising strategy


The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Be an experienced fundraiser (2 years or more) with expertise in trusts and foundations, alongside other forms of income generation, such as corporate partnerships and major donors

  • Be adept at managing relationships across a diverse range of supporters and stakeholders

  • Be a brilliant communicator, with exceptional written and spoken English

  • Be keen to learn, energetic, tenacious, and full of enthusiasm

  • Be a driven self-starter, highly organised, able to work independently and manage a varied project portfolio

  • Be excited about the organisation, the opportunities it presents, and the impact your work will have
