Fundraising Prospect Research Officer

WR Fundraising Recruitment is proud to be working with one of the UK’s leading health charities. At an exciting time of development we are looking for an experienced Fundraising Prospect Research Officer to join the philanthropy team and develop a pipeline of potential high net worth, corporate and grant making donors.


Working across the fundraising department, the position offers a varied role and the opportunity to work within the newly created celebrity support function.


Duties will include:

  • Research and identify fundraising prospects from across Individual Giving and Regional Fundraising programmes.

  • Research, individuals (including celebrities), organisations and their networks to expand and refresh the pool of supporters

  • Provide event guest lists and develop attendee briefings for events

  • Undertake in-depth research profiles on key current or potential individuals and organisations

  • Work with the Relationship Managers to create and update Donor Development Plans

  • Undertake sector-wide insight gathering on funders, sharing these insights as relevant across the organisation

  • Lead on the development of the CRM database to meet the needs of Philanthropy and Partnerships teams


This is a very exciting role within the fundraising department and we are looking for candidates with a strong record of achievement in researching fundraising prospects for major gifts, major donors, philanthropy, individual giving, trusts and corporate support.


The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience of fundraising prospect research for individual giving, major donors, philanthropy, high net worth individuals, corporate partnerships or trusts & grants

  • Proven experience of and in-depth knowledge of a CRM system/data-base

  • Strategic thinker with proven analytical and planning skills and a strong attention to detail

  • Experience of researching or knowledge of celebrities (Desirable)

  • Ability to think creatively and use initiative to source information and identify cross team

  • Excellent organisational and time management skills with proven ability to prioritise and

  • Manage a varied workload, often working to conflicting deadlines
