Individual Giving and Supporter Engagement Manager

WR Fundraising Recruitment is privileged to be working with a Surrey-based charity carrying out critical work in child health, and we are looking for someone with strong skills in digital supporter management and individual giving to join their team.

In this exciting role, you’ll be directly responsible for generating income, leading a small and driven team that are outcome-focused and enjoy a fast pace of work. Our ideal candidate will be able to blend together analysing and utilising supporter data with the ability to be creative, confident, and persuasive.

WR Fundraising Recruitment are passionate about bringing together talented fundraising professionals with fantastic organisations, so you’ll need to have proven experience generating income for a charity or non-profit, along with being a confident and skilled user of CRM systems, ideally having used them to run coordinated and run direct marketing appeals.


The right candidate for this role will be:

  • Experienced in working in a charity as a fundraiser or marketer with direct responsibility for individual giving and supporter management

  • Confident in using a CRM to manage, analyse, and update supporter data for direct marketing

  • Experienced as a manager, both in line management and budget responsibility, or with significant experience at officer level and the capability to make the step to a managerial position

  • Confident at engaging with and influencing stakeholders

  • Outcome-focused, comfortable with accountability for organisational fundraising targets

Duties and responsibilities will include:

  • Devising and delivering Individual Giving Strategy (including Legacy Giving) and Operational Plans that align with wider Engagement Strategy and Business Plan

  • Lead activity to reach wider audiences, increasing the number of prospects for one-off gifts, regular donations and future legacy giving.

  • Develop new fundraising ideas to ensure a strong individual giving portfolio avoiding over reliance on any one income source

  • Analyse data from the supporter database working closely with Head of Engagement to produce insights for the development of new fundraising products

  • Generate and grow sustainable income, leading on new donor acquisition and delivering excellent stewardship of existing individual supporters.

  • Manage supporter journeys, steward prospects and donors to drive conversion, retention and improve the lifetime value.

  • Provide leadership for direct reports that inspires both staff and volunteers to excel and achieve

  • Effectively manage third party suppliers, such as external marketing agencies
