Legacy Marketing Officer

WR Fundraising Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a talented fundraiser and marketer looking to take the next step in their career. You’ll be joining one of the UK’s most well-known and established charity brands in a key role driving forward the legacy and in-memory programme, one of the organisation’s largest income streams.


You will get the opportunity to innovate and create new marketing plans and put them into action, engaging new and existing supporters and inspiring them to consider leaving a gift in their will. Working with the individual giving team and external agencies, you will be developing and coordinating exciting digital campaigns, direct marketing initiatives, and exploring opportunities to promote legacy giving across all fundraising streams.


Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Developing innovative and engaging legacy marketing campaigns

  • Engaging and advising supporters interested in legacy or in-memory giving

  • Create engaging communications across a range of channels to inspire supporters

  • Development and delivery of the ‘In-Memory’ programme, from promotion to stewardship

  • Using insight and evidence to evaluate and improve future campaigns

  • Coordinating external suppliers, such as media buyers and print houses

  • Looking for opportunities across the organisation to promote and develop legacy and in-memory giving


The ideal candidate will be an aspiring charity professional with solid direct marketing skills. You will have an interest in developing a career and/or experience in direct marketing / individual giving / supporter engagement / fundraising / communications.


With the opportunity to work with one of the UK’s largest charity brands you will have: 

  • A creative edge with the ability to develop and implement engaging marketing campaigns aimed at new and existing supporters

  • Experience of working on either direct marketing campaigns, regular giving donor acquisition, digital marketing or donor retention

  • Ability to write clear, persuasive, jargon free, emotive and inspiring copy

  • Experience of monitoring and analysing marketing campaigns and supporter communications

  • Experience of or ability to work with external suppliers on exciting communications projects including direct marketing and fulfilment agencies
