Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser

A well-established and prominent children’s charity is looking for a new Trusts and Foundations fundraiser to generate sustainable income from trusts and grant making bodies and individuals.

 

Along with nurturing existing and potential supporters, you will be taking a lead on researching new opportunities in trust and grant funding, networking effectively to raise the profile of the charity, communicate charitable impact, and develop the trust and grant income stream. There will be opportunity to get out and meet major donors, joining presentations and events to represent the charity.

 

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Work with the Major Gift Manager and other team members to develop, implement and evaluate trust and grant making for the organisation.

  • To research relevant Trusts and Grant making bodies, developing compelling applications, and ensuring that Trust income plays an active role in supporting the other fundraising income streams.

  • Take part in strategy and planning meetings in relation to income generation planning, and input into forecasting and annual budget planning.

  • Developing close working relationships with the fundraising team and other departments to ensure that Trust fundraising is integrated into the department’s overall strategy.

  • Build new relationships with trust and grant awarding organisations, updating them with the work of the charity and impact of trust funding.

  • Working alongside the marketing team to develop content that raises awareness of trust and grant fundraising

  • Represent the charity at presentations and events.

 

The ideal candidate for this role will:

  • Have relevant experience of Trust and Grant making fundraising or appeals.

  • Have experience building effective relationships with individuals, helping solicit support from charitable trusts and grant making bodies

  • Be a confident communicator, with exceptional written skills. 

  • Be highly organised, able to effectively prioritise, with demonstrable project management experience

  • Be aware of philanthropic motivations, donor stewardship, and trends in major giving
